The Best Of Internet Marketing March 2014

This is the 16th post in the series which shares all of my favourite internet marketing posts from the past month.

There is an awful lot of junk to sort through every month so here are the best bits according to me!

The Best Posts Of March 2014

Well March has been a hectic month to say the least!

Google have rolled out more penalties but we now know exactly how the Panda algorithm works.

There has been some great content from SEO through to the psychology of marketing – grab a coffee while you can!

SEO & Link Building

Let’s kick things off with Matt Cutt’s getting burnt on Twitter & these confessions from an SEO crack dealer.

Google were busy penalising guest post networks but this is just another example of them using scare tactics. They did the same with blog networks (ALN & BuildMyRank etc) – target the big ones, scare people away from them – job done.

We have seen some great case studies about a range of penalties. It’s worrying to think that fixing a penalty doesn’t mean your traffic returns.

In a rare treat Google had a patent approved for the Panda algorithm – get the full details to learn more about how it works.

Spending time building a keyword matrix is a great idea but you can always increase traffic from Google without building links.

Blackhat SEO is not dead – you are just doing it wrong – but whatever you do, don’t ask me to “do seo” for you.

Looking into Google’s future they probably don’t care about your SEO issues anyway.

Social Media

When your dealing with lots of social networks it is hard to craft the perfect post.

I have been looking to improve on my 2,851% ROI Facebook campaign using some of these ad tips and the brand new lookalike audiences.

Use this checklist to create the perfect Facebook page then look at these live examples of how to use Twitter for business.

Blogging / Site Building

Once you have learnt how to start a blog you might benefit from these tips from 39 experts.

You can use the WordPress Theme detector to work out which theme a blog uses – personally I use this theme.

There are a bunch of great blogging resources around and you can now get free images from Getty.

Have you underestimated the power of blog commenting?

General Marketing

Understand consumer psychology is key to making money online & building an online marketing strategy.

You can use this free analytics tool to help you make sense of the chaos with Google Analytics before digging into remarketing.

Jason Acidre shares his internet marketing & SEO knowledge but if all else fails you can just sell cash for profit.

John Chow

John Chow has put out quite a few awesome videos the past month. They are only 5-10 minutes long each but I recommend you watch them all-

I love videos like this – I might even start my own series, what do you think?
