The Very Best Of Internet Marketing January 2015

This is the 26th post in the series which shares all of my favourite internet marketing posts from the past month.

There is an awful lot of junk to sort through every month so here are the best bits according to me!

The Best Posts Of January 2015

This is the first roundup of January 2015 and even though it is a short one, there are some great tutorials & free tools to play with here.

Make sure you grab a coffee or take a toilet break before going any further!

SEO & Link Building

Let’s kick the SEO section off with Matt Cutts speaking about lessons learned in Google when dealing with spam.

With that in mind you could take advantage of these 7 free website graders.

Then all you need to do is combine that with this advanced SEO checklist.

Blogging & Content

I was at Affiliate Summit earlier this month in Vegas – check out John Chow‘s funny video of the meet market floor.

Learn how to keep readers for longer with these simple tips – you should also throw in some awesome visuals.

A handy plugin I’ve been using on a new site recently is the WordPress Notepad plugin – simple and easy to use.

Learn how to use Google Analytics to come up with new blog post ideas – really good stuff there.

If anyone is still struggling to track conversions and clicks with Analytics then there is a tutorial for you.

Social Media

Does your Facebook campaign pass Guy Kawasaki’s valuable social media test?

Take advantage of this quick Twitter hack to keep track of mentions. Perhaps you could use them in a winning Twitter ad campaign.

Last but not least I’ve experimented with SlideShare recently – so these optimization tips are great.

And let’s not forget, work smarter not harder.

    Hey Matthew!
I’ve been following your blog for several months (I started when you first released your tiered link building tutorials), and this roundups are excellent my friend!

I recently made a resource that might be of help
for anyone interested in these topics: It’s a roundup of the latest 100 tools and apps for web designers and marketers for 2015

Although the tools don’t make the marketer, it sure doesn’t help being outdated. It had a big response on reddit so check it out maybe you find something you missed!

Thanks Matthew again for the great content!

Awesome Matt! I’m clicking away into new tabs with half the links here. I noticed you got the top social bar flowing down with the page, I think that’s new! Is that using CSS or is it a plugin? Thanks for the round up here.

    Hey Matt,

This is OT but please make a mobile version of your blog
I do a lot of reading on my phone and your blog is one of the few that is not mobile optimized. It’s surprising, for a blog as big as this.

So please make a mobile version!

I actually prefer the blog not being optimised for mobile, I hate being limited to one column of content and prefer to scroll about.. But then I am viewing with the iPhone 6+ :)

I’m considering disabling mobile responsiveness on my blog.

Actually I prefer the full versions of sites on my phone than responsive versions, but I also hate watching videos and I’m known for making good videos so I have to listen to the audience on this one :)
