Income Report Roundup – September 2014

Income report roundupOne of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

If you feel inspired by this post – start your own blog right now!

Here we go-

How to start a successful blog in 7 days

#1) PinchOfYum.com – $32,647.95 (+$6,261.94)

PinchOfYumAlthough the PinchOfYum team took a hit last month they still remained top – this month made an awesome recovery.

You have to hand it to them with consistent income numbers like that in a niche that everyone says is not possible to make money in – there is a lesson in that somewhere.

As always the team has pushed forward on a number of fronts and they are continually building there RPM – revenue per thousand visitors.

#2) MatthewWoodward.co.uk – $19,236.09 (+$811.19)

Matthew WoodwardLast month broke the blogs income record and this month was even better!

Another record breaking month has pushed me to a new goal of $20k – it wasn’t long ago I was struggling to break the $10k barrier and fell just short a few months in a row.

Although I don’t think I will be reaching the $20k goal for another 2-3 months just yet, but let’s see what happens with my new income report in a couple of days.

#3) GodOfSEO.co – $17,799.00 (+$1,373.50)

GodOfSEOIt is great to welcome Charles back into the income reports especially when he is doing so well!

He got busy and didn’t publish on time a couple months back and then I forgot re-include him a couple of times so between us we are useless.

But with that said since Charles was last featured in the income reports his online efforts have grown leaps and bounds!

#4) MakingSenseofCents.com – $14,156.00 (-$781.00)

MakingSenseofCentsMichelle had her best month ever last month although there is a small drop this month.

You certainly can’t argue with those numbers though even if she is falling slave to the classic working from home syndrome. I think I still suffer from it personally.

But on the flip side she managed to take a decent break this month so you have to take the rough with smooth sometimes!

#5) AuthorityWebsiteIncome.com – $13,189.00 (-$3,019.00)

AuthorityWebsiteIncomeAfter seeing a near $14k drop a couple of months ago Jon is recovering well on his rocky road.

Jon has a lot of different faces to his business which helps to spread his risk and income. On top of that he has very ambitious goals and is certainly one to watch.

It is likely we will see a huge jump next month due to how the services face of his business is setup – good luck!

#6) Moms-Make-Money.com – $11,597.72 (+$2,701.71)

MomsMakeMoneyAfter having a $10,728 month in May, Deby has shattered her previous record this month.

Not only did she set a new income record she also set a new traffic record at the same time with 350,864 visitors between 2 sites mostly driven by Google & Pinterest.

The latest dress pattern she released was the fastest selling yet which has helped drives sales – not bad considering her top affiliate income channel was under threat last month.

#7) TrueValhalla.com – $7,538.00 (+$2,311.00)

TrueValhallaAfter a $19k drop, moving to a new city & a small recovery last month – Matt is firing on all cylinders again.

Although it does seem he is also suffering from working from home syndrome losing most of his days to sitting behind a desk 12 hours a day.

He managed to secure a range of new HTML5 sponsorships for his games this month which helped bring home the bacon!

#8) RatRaceGrad.com – $6,381.92 (+$574.80)

RatRaceGradJennifer has had a great month all round if you read her report – there is more to life than the money!

While she had an increase in income she also managed to find 28 geocaches, spend 2 weekends with family, attend a football (hand egg) game and lost 6 pounds.

That is what the dot com life style is all about and it is great to see Jennifer balance work/life effectively which many of us are struggling with this month!

#9) MyTanFeet.com – $2,762.13 (+$771.81)

MyTanFeetThe travel blogging duo have posted a great increase in income this month.

They are starting to reap the benefits of all of the seeds they have planted the last couple of months seeing passive income grow significantly.

Right now they are working their way through Korea and Malaysia so it will be interesting to see what happens next!

#10) DumbPassiveIncome.com – $1,792.80 (+$9.94)

DumbPassiveIncomeMatt was seeing month on month drop offs recently but has managed to put the breaks on this month.

He is busy working on his niche site at night case study where he will teach people how to build their own niche sites in the evenings.

While he is spending time and energy on that he is facing opportunity cost by not focusing on growing the income of established sites – but I believe it’s the right direction to head!

#11) DigitalNomadWannabe.com – $1,180.00 (+$10.00)

digitalnomadSharon is another travel blogger and manages to maintain income levels this month.

She has had a busy month including a week long trip to Singapore and attending the Pro Blogger training event on the Gold Coast.

On the 31st of December she will move to Malaysia with her family so its make or break on all fronts!

#12) My4HrWorkWeek.com – $414.43 (-$79.75)

My4HrWorkWeekRecently Eric decided to stop focusing on making money online and focusing on his career but is still posting income reports.

It is great to see that even though he spent zero time maintaining anything he was able to add an extra few hundred dollars in his back pocket.

I hope Eric continues to post income reports so we can see how those passive streams perform over time!

#13) SelfMadeBusinessman.com – $108.00 (+$108.00)

smbDave is new to the income reports this month but also runs the chart topping ACoupleTravelers.com before they stopped publishing income reports.

He has been working on this site for the past few months and is starting to get good traction on all fronts as he continues to build it.

This month marks the first earnings of the blog and I’m sure we will see that continue to grow in the coming months!

#14) RankTactics.com – $100.76 (+$70.76)

ranktacticsWhen Rizvan joined the roundup a few months ago he posted a lost of $38.40 – this month he breaks the $100 barrier.

He has a few interesting things in the works including a private blog network case study and is creating a lot of new content.

This has helped to ensure that traffic, earnings, subscribers and more continue to grow slowly but steadily.

In Summary

It was great to see the return of 2 old faces to the round up this month, Charles from GodOfSEO and Dave from SelfMadeBusinessman.

Last month the blogs featured earned a total of $101,353.14 breaking the 6 figure mark for the first time in a while. This month that has increased to $129,903.54 which is a huge leap forward!

I wonder if next month we can break the $150,000 barrier collectively – if PinchOfYum and Moms-Make-Money continue on their current trends it might just happen!

If you feel inspired to follow in their foot steps then why don’t you start a blog today? It only takes a few minutes!

Performance Tracking

I only include the earnings history of the top 10 blogs each month to make the graphs easy to read.

    Hey Matthew,

nice collection over there, good job! I am doing income reports of my Viral Nova like site on my new blog where I also try to investigate further into the world of viral. There is not much content yet because I am quite busy with the other site but I already made a few thousand dollars and am sharing the process in the reports. Would be an honor to join the round!

    D***… this is awesome Matt.

I see all this and it’s fascinating, but for me the big a-ha moment came when I visited your first income report where you show you only got 77 email subscribers on your first month, then around 200, and so on.

That’s the biggest motivator. How your non-bs approach and hard work have produced results over time.

You are right to focus on that metric, that is the real bread and butter of the business!

    Hey Matt,

I would love to be added to the Income report report for next month. I plan on doing my own report on Wednesday to reflect the month of September.

      2) It is running, but not generating anything

Wow Matt! I haven’t been by for several months, I’m blown away. Last time I was here you were either just over or just under the $10k mark, and it wasn’t THAT long ago. Congratulations on the increase!

And GodOfSeo’s income has increase a whole lot since then too. Man, you guys are doing awesome. That is inspiring.

I’m happy to see Rizvan bringing up the rear, too. I mean, I don’t know him or anything, but I think it’s cool to see someone on the same planet as me (the $100 per month or less planet, that is).

    Anyways, good job everybody!

      Thanks guys!

I had make some shifts and started to focus more on my efforts. I felt like I was stagnant because I didn’t take things too seriously. Blogging is truly a business and you have to treat it like one.

      Let’s see what happens!

Aw, thought we were going to be on this one. ;)

P.S. AfterOffers has REALLY ramped up for us this past month. How’s it doing for you in terms of #s of subscribers? I’m sending out an email to just AO leads to see how engaged they are.

Awesome roundup Matt. I’m not surprised that you almost hit 20k for the month. From what I hear getting to the 10k per month mark is more challenging than to go from say 20k to 30k a month. Do you think there is any truth to that statement? Have a good one!
