Income Report Roundup – June 2013

Income report roundupOne of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

Here we go-

#1) ACoupleTravelers.com – $9,035.00 (+$4,129.18)

ACoupleTravelersCredit where it is due, travelling duo Dave & Vicky have absolutely smashed it this month!

They have reached out to other audiences with a bunch of interviews. The biggest income driver though was their blogging partnership which accounts for around half the income this month.

Looking forward to meeting you guys in the very near future!

#2) LeavingWorkBehind.com – $8,318.71 (+$341.04)

LeavingWorkBehindTom has lost his top spot to worthy competitors but has still had a cracking month driving over $8k!

Most of his income comes from his writing services which are set at $150 an hour although he plans to throttle back on client work this month.

Good job I have just employed him to work his magic on the blog :)

#3) PinchOfYum.com – $7,093.52 (+$3,802.06)

PinchOfYumMay brings a record breaking month for food blogging duo Bjork & Lindsay – congratulations!

Be sure to check out the report for 10 great tips about driving passive income & traffic.

Good job this month guys – can you break the record again next month?

#4) MatthewWoodward.co.uk – $5,432.24 (-$628.17)

Matthew WoodwardA slight drop for me this month as I was travelling around I had less time to blog.

I did manage to win the 3rd award for the blog though that brought me some nice exposure.

I made a few tweaks to the site last month so this month’s earnings should be interesting!

#5) TrueValhalla.com – $3,020.00 (-$4,047.00)

TrueValhallaMatt saw a huge boost last month and its pretty sad to see it swing the other way for him this month =/

Then again he did go on holiday to Melbourne and spend most of the month in a luxury hotel, player player!

Thanks for the mention in your report :) I’m writing from Malaga in Spain this month – give me a shout if you want to hit the UK!

#6) LostCyclist.me – $2,869.96 (+$1,637.82)

LostCyclistA newcomer to the roundup Quinton quit the corporate life to pursue his passion online. Sounds like me ^^

This month he broke the $2,000 barrier for the first time and nearly pushed through to the $3k!

Most of his earnings come through Amazon with other bits made up from Squidoo and his Ecommerce site.

#7) FallForDesign.com – $2,000.67 (+$767.20)

FallForDesignAutumn has shown great growth since I started tracking her income 3 months ago with a nice increase this month!

She picked up a new sponsor this month and changed up the advertising formats to attract more deals.

At the moment she is working 60+ hours a week to keep on top of everything – best get a sack of coffee!

#8) Moms-Make-Money.com – $1,915.85 (-$37.96)

MomsMakeMoneyAnother new comer this month Deby has posted a very small drop.

Her income is generated from a number of affiliate programs and managed to bag an extra 10,000 visitors month on month.

Slightly confused as to why she has set her income target at $1,000 next month though :S

#9) AvocadoPesto.com – $1,486.00 (+$817.00)

AvocadoPestoVicky (one half of ACoupleTravelers) has done a great job of recovering from last month’s drop in earnings!

Interestingly though it looks like Google is giving her the cold shoulder with a huge drop off in traffic.

Can you guys shoot me an email with the full history of the site from an SEO standpoint – I’ll tell you exactly what is wrong and how to turn that frown upside down!

Good job the site doesn’t fully rely on Google to drive traffic right? There is a lesson there!

#10) MoneyHomeBlog.com – $1,388.09 (+$338.83)

MoneyHomeBlogAfter getting over his hosting problems last month Ceejay has been able to focus on bringing home the money!

He is currently building 1 new Amazon affiliate site every month and is already seeing great success.

I wouldn’t expect many blog updates from him though as he is busy with offline clients – hopefully that makes for an even better income report next month!

#11) MakeMoneyOnlineHQ.com.au – $1,251.83 (-$906.42)

MakeMoneyOnlineHQGreg sees a relatively big hit this month as Penguin 2.0 reared its head and hit some of his sites.

Shame to hear that buddy – I would suggest you start with something like this backlink profile analysis to recover though!

He is expecting an even worse month next month but has the drive and focus to turn that around!

#12) INeedDiscipline.com – $704.58 (+$52.54)

MakeMoneyLessonsWhen Dean first joined the income report roundups he was pretty lazy but his recent hard work is starting to pay off.

He managed to drive new visitors and get his bounce rate down to 30% which is more than impressive, mines like 50-60%!

Keep pushing forward mate!

#13) ChaseToOneMillion.com – $678.39 (+$151.77)

Chase To One MillionI’m sorry to report that Tim broke his leg quite seriously and was forced to spend 23.5 hours a day with it elevated.

But this is the dot com lifestyle right? We don’t need to be able to walk to hustle!

So even when struck down with injury Tim managed to increase his earnings for the 5th month running.

#14) My4HrWorkWeek.com – $517.08 (-$449.94)

My4HrWorkWeekEric achieved his personal target a couple of months ago but since then things have been on the decline.

Most of his niche sites have died off over time and it has caught up with him this month.

No problem though he is going to push forward with a new site this month. By the way SEOMoz terminated their affiliate program – I didn’t get that memo either.

#15) BitDoze.com – $409.64 (-$399.19)

BitDozeDragos got hitched last month and as you would expect, has been pretty distracted since ^^

He also got hit by Penguin 2.0 pretty hard but I can tell you for sure it is not because you have too many affiliate links on page.

Start with this tutorial to get a handle on things and form a stable plan of recovery! Hit me up if you need a hand!

#16) WPSquared.com – $287.19 (+$17.05)

WP SquaredOur 3rd newcomer for the month the multi author blog focuses on everything WordPress!

They spent the last month focused on growing traffic seeing a huge 60% boost month on month!

The site is still in its early days but looks promising for the future!

In Summary

Well this month we crowned a new winner with Dave/Vicky @ ACoupleTravellers.com leaving Tom @ LeavingWorkBehind.com in the dust!

It has been particularly tough for a couple of people on this list as Google Penguin ran rampage on their sites.

I’ve spent a lot of time on the sites in this report and I know that every single one of them delivers high quality content.

It’s a shame to see Google wrongly picking on them!

Overall though the bloggers featured here earned a combined total of $46,408.75 which is up by $2,991.76 from last months $43,416.99.

Keep pluggin guys – let’s see if we can take that to $50k between us next month!

S***, I just realized that ours are revenue numbers not income numbers – doh! Looks like we need to be audited huh?

Income would actually be -$585, anyways, I’ll make sure it’s clearer this month. Previously our costs were so minimal it was about the same so we just stuck with revenue and then I wanted to be consistent, but now our costs have grown considerably…

Did you actually read any of the income reports?

  8. Prabhat

    Hi Matt,

I have been following your blog for quite some time now.

One thing about the chart which you have given at the end of this post.. you may want to simplify this a bit as you are adding more and more bloggers it is just increasing the complexity.

You may like to add restrictions in the chart like movement of more than 20% or bloggers only with $2000+ income.

Anyways I like your content a lot.

Yes I’ve been thinking about how to do that – but ideally I want the chart to show the historical progress for everyone.

Eg if someone has a few <$400 months then smashes a $3k month I want that to be shown.

  9. Adam - Tropical Nomad

A nice gathering of income reports Matt.. Hope to achieve something like this one day!
