great stuff, quick question though should we be using spun content for our tier 1 like this? I thought the use of software would be best for tiers 2 and 3.
Also great vids keep up the awesome job, I just wish video 4 was ready :)

Hi,

If you watch video 2 you will see how I advise you to spin the base set of content you use. A high quality hand spun article on the sentence and word/phrase level is more than good enough to use on the first tier of links.

Not all spun content is equal ^^

Hi Matthew,

These videos are excellent. I've never quite got my head around tiered link building but your videos have just helped my understanding greatly. Thanks for the taking the time to put them together. It's made me excited to realise the possibilities of ranking sites in competitive niches with this!

Quick question: The projects are scheduled in UD over 2 weeks – can I pause the submitter without disrupting the process? I don't run UD on a VPS (is that even possible?) and can't leave laptop running constantly for 2 weeks as I have to take it back and forward to various places. How does this work?

Also, have you tried the new 'Link Tree' (beta) function in UD? Could this be used to make the whole process you showed us easier to manage?

Thanks!

Luke

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Hi Luke,

I'm glad you have taken something from my videos =D It really isn't that complicated when you take a step back and look at things in a simple way.

You can pause the projects in UD, in fact you can schedule them so they only run during certain hours if you wanted to. Alternatively you can throw Ultimate Demon onto a VPS which you will need for tier 2 and 3 anyway.

I have looked at the new link tree function but it doesn't really excite me, while Ultimate Demon is great for tier 1 links it is a bit to controlled for tier 2 and beyond. I will have a play with it but I dont see it becoming part of my process.

Cheers!

[Reply]

Luke Bremner Reply:

Yes, agreed. Everything is simple when broken down in to logical steps and your videos do exactly that.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. Will you be providing more information aboutsetting up a VPS and tier's 2 and 3 in the next videos? I just run my tools on my laptop but have been looking into a VPS for a while now.

It'll be interesting to see how the Link Tree function develops. I also have scrapebox so hopefully that'll be enough for tier 3?

Thanks again.

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Setting up a VPS is as easy as rent one and install software. Personally I don't use a VPS I have a couple of machines locally with various tools that i just remote desktop in, local dedicated servers in a way I suppose.

Scrapebox has its use for posting links, but not in video 4 :P probably in video 5 ^^

Video 4 is live btw

Another great video Mathew! Have you checked out Seo Content Machine? It allows you to paste a keyword in and it will scrape either videos or pictures and then it combines them in spintax. It does a bunch of other things also…google it. The last I checked it was in beta also. It may speed up the video and picture process of your workflow.

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Hi,

I have found that most tools that scrape image URL's dont obey the 'small' rule in my tutorial which means when you post them out they don't look great when they overlap.

To be honest doing it manually only takes a few minutes if you blaze through it with keyboard shortcuts.

I've tried Wicked Article Creator as well but still not found a suitable bit of kit to automate what I want to do specifically.

hi Mathew, this is great, you sharing youre strategys, as a newbie , this may seem a bit nieve, but when you spin the anchor text for all those phrases, does this not mess up the quality of the carefully hand spun at sentence , word and phrase level article, I understand its importance, due to penguin. thanks again, on another note, as I'm on a very low budget, and I work of an old mac, which is to slow to run parallels, are there any equivalents in mac version , everyhing is pc, :)

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Hi Tony,

When you spin your article you need to keep in mind what kind of words/phrases your going to be linking so it makes sense on the final output.

Ahhh Mac's really aren't that great when it comes to SEO. I would recommend getting a cheap VPS which will build links all day everyday for you.

You mentioned about the web 2.0 mini site creation video… is this still on the cards? It seems amazing how much time and effort goes into this stuff, people just assume you end up ranking with just a few keyboards.

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Yes I'll be doing it but the basic principle is to build them like mini sites complete with images, videos, unique articles and links to other relevant sites.

Not everyone goes to the extents that I go to, they are the people posting on forums that spinning doesnt work, tool x gets you banned etc etc ^^

Hey Matthew,

as I can't buy the best article spinner (they have only 1 payment option which I can't use – doh) and my current spinner doesn't have "Spin together" option (double doh), could I just spin videos and images manually? For images there isn't much of a problem, I can simply spin http's and insert them in SRC tag, but what can I do about videos? Replacing every video code two times and then spinning them all together would be very painful :)

Why do you need GSA also? Why not just use UMD to build to the first tier links?

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

The reason is because UltimateDemon only supports 10-15 platforms which means we have a fairly limited target list of sites that we can post to.

GSA on the other hand has about 120 platforms which gives us an endless amount of link targets to use in the lower tiers which require an awful lot more volume.

Also you dont want to end up with the same site been used as a tier 3 link as a tier 2 link and so forth.

That's why I just use Ultimate Demon for tier 1 links and nothing else, and GSA which has a much wider scope for everything else.

[Reply]

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the response above. Just another quick question if you don't mind. Are all of your tier 1 links on external sites. Is there a case for creating a 'Tier 0' of privately hosted domains with web 2.0 sites on that then point to the main target? I'm thinking of the control to switch off or retarget these sites if needed. How do you then 'switch off' the tier 1 sites in this set up?

Thanks a lot again!

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean – but you can use privately hosted domains and web 2.0 mini sites to support your tier 1 link profile.

I assume by switch off a link you mean remove it, if you have created it with UD you can get the login details to remove it or if you own the domain just do it that way.

[Reply]

10.16.2012

Hi,

How does this work across multiple domains and keyword targeting? By adding all the urls to one large list do you not mix up the keyword targeting effects? Is there a way to put different url lists into unique groups so you only pull from this group when pushing a particular domain?

Thanks.

Then i spent hours and hours to spin all of this content properly like you show in your “advanced spinning techniques video ” …

I have now 2 articles spun to word, sentences level including images , videos, money site link and contextual links… and 1 articles spun to word and sentence level…

tell me if I am correct :

1 article spun with video and image for web 2.0
1 article for wiki’s ( including image and video ?? )
1 article ( the same ) for article directories and press release

One last thing should your Video contain your money site link or should just describe your industry related to your keyword?

Hi Matt, excellent content. Things are starting to make sense :)

I understand each campaign should target 1 page/keyword.

But I am trying to figure this out:

1. In the articles/content we are using the targeted keywords and we are spinning the anchor text – but we are always linking back to the main URL and NOT the page that we are optimizing. Should we sometimes link back to the optimized page instead of the root URL (to increase the PR of that page)? If so what would be the best way of doing it? A different task in UD using the same article (spun) with links to that internal page?

2. What if I target 2-3 keywords on one page on my site? We only have 1 backlink in the article using one keyword. Should I write the article using all 3 keywords OR do I need a separate article targeting only 1 keyword per article. Would I need to create separate tasks in UD for each keyword?

3. Once I scraped my list of sites based on a specific keyword I chose to optimize, should I categorize those sites in UD, so I know those sites where for that keyword? Because I have another site that has nothing to do with this niche. For this keyword/site I will be scraping a new set of sites, correct? I will probably end up with a huge list of sites in UD. Do you categorize them so you know which ones you scraped for what website? And when running campaigns, you choose the proper sites category?

4. When choosing sites to post to, I see that you just took the top 400 sites each time. How about the other sites you scraped into UD? When do you use them? For other keywords? Do you keep track which you already submitted to and try using other ones? Or do you try to use only the ones you have a high success rate?

Otherwise everything seems to be clear, for now :)

Thanks a lot for all your hard work.

[Reply]

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Hi Lou,

Thanks :)

The campaign should target 1 page for multiple keywords.

1) You link to the page you want to rank, whether thats the home page or an inner url

2) You should be targeting 3 at a bare minimum – the more the better

3) You can if you want, I don’t

4) I select 400 to allow for failures etc and to ensure the link profile is always different and no footprint is left

Thanks

I have one big (and possibly ridiculous) question. I’m not up to building the mini-sites just yet so … the first round of links I’m building using UD … should they be pointing to my money site or to buffer web 2.0 pages that I build manually to act as buffers?

I do Seo for local business and love the process of what your doing.
Regarding writing the articles would it matter if they were not 500 words if writing about a local business, say a plumber or electrician. Or would it be still advisable to go for the full 500 words.
Also would you do it like a press release and write as if your recommending that company or would you write about yourself.
Great videos BTW.

Your tier 1 links should link to you and also other relevant sites, but always you :)

You say prepare 3 articles, but it looks like you only use one. Are you using a different article with the article directory submissions than you are with the web2.0 submissions? Where do you use the 3rd article?

Hi,

1 for web 2.0s, 1 for ad/pr’s and 1 for wikis.

Matt, would you recommend sending Tier 1 links to a blog network (about 3 blogs, PR 5, owned and managed by myself) for more juice or are those PR 5′s (already directly linked to my websites) already doing me enough good, and should I diversify to other links?

Thanks!

Matthew Woodward Reply:

HI Carl,

They are good enough already – be better off turning those PR1s into tier 1s

Hi Matt,

Why do you use TheBestSpinner if there’s already a built-in spinner in UD?

Hi,

Because it sucks in comparison! Its a bit like saying if you have this http://goo.gl/w4EMM why bother with this http://goo.gl/WwBHF ^^

Matthew I want to say thank you for the video, SEO is explained really clearly here.

Can you tell me how do you which types of sites from UD accept anchor links/images/embedded videos and which ones don’t?

Matthew Woodward Reply:

Web 2.0s for images/videos/links, just links for everything else

Hi Matthew,

In your video at 3.27 – In the UltimateDemon software.

What Web address URL should be entered in this field? Should it be your main Money website?

Or should it be randomly spun websites?

Thanks!

Hi,

Either your money site url or any other URL you want – this is just what appears in your profile.

Hi Matt, this is by far the best step by step guide to tiered link building I have come accross. Well done! I just have a couple of questions.

1. How many alternative titles and subtitles would you suggest for the the web 2.0, articles and press release? So far I have 3 that are all highly spun. Do you think this is enough?

2. Can you put images and video in the articles and press releases also? So far I have only done the web 2.0

Thanks
Greg
