Income Report Roundup – September 2015

PLEASE SHARE

One of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

Here we go-

#1) PinchOfYum.com – $29,053.44 (-$14,683.15)

PinchOfYumAfter reporting their best month ever last month it’s not surprising that there’s been a bit of a drop in income for Lindsay & Bjork this month.

They’ve been busy looking at new ways to meet the specific needs and wants of each reader with a new email service and they’ve made some big updates to their FoodBloggerPro site.

Lindsay also completed her first ever food photography workshop and experimented with video creation using only an iPhone for all of the shooting and editing of a basic recipe video!

#2) AuthorityWebsiteIncome.com – $27,917.00 (+$15,898.00)

AuthorityWebsiteIncomeJon has smashed his income target this month and is happy to be reporting his best month ever!

This month saw him question his decision not to learn from paid online courses over the last seven years.

He came to the realisation that paying to learn a skill faster would save more in the long run than spending huge amounts of time searching for free resources.

Finally starting to see a return for his efforts he reminds us that this is the result of consistent work on the right activities and taking big action on opportunities that come your way!

#3) MatthewWoodward.co.uk – $23,470.16 (-$11,739.19)

Matthew WoodwardMy time has been heavily invested elsewhere this month and I was expecting a sharp drop in income after having the best month for income ever last month!

They finally ran a line to the house and connected the internet, phew! There were a total of 5 posts published this month compared to 7 the month before, so I’ll be focusing more on promotion to stabilise traffic levels.

Posting less and firing up a range of Facebook campaigns means I now have the time I need to put the finishing touches to a huge project I’ve been working on!

#4) MakingSenseOfCents.com – $22,092.00 (-$946.00)

MakingSenseofCentsMichelle’s had another great month for income reporting her best month for affiliate income ever!

Pinterest promotion has been a focus this month, scheduling pins in advance to save on time.

Although she has yet to complete her task of formatting images across the site to make them ‘Pinterest-worthy’ she has still seen an improvement in traffic.

Getting the hang of travelling while working Michelle’s been making the most of internet down time when wifi is scarce by enjoying the surroundings and writing her articles distraction free!

#5) JustAGirlAndHerBlog.com – $14,948.00 (-$979.00)

JustAGirlAndHerBlogLast month’s newcomer Abby is reporting another healthy month for income!

She’s been busy changing up her email services in order to keep up with the growth of the blog after finding limitations with her previous service.

Enlisting her sister into the team working on tasks such as social scheduling and email responses has also helped to free up some time.

She was also interviewed for another podcast this month featuring on Hack the Entrepreneur revealing all about her story and business!

#6) NicheSiteAzon.com – $7,313.20 (-$96.51)

nichesiteazon1It’s been another great month for Mike and he’s relieved to find that his niche sites weren’t affected by the latest Panda update after all!

He’s had another record-breaking month with his niche sites just about beating last months record for Amazon income.

This month has seen him experiment with outreach techniques which he plans to write a post about with the results when he’s done!

#7) MyTanFeet.com – $6,015.02 (-$1,400.23)

MyTanFeetFor the first time in 4 months Yeison & Samantha have reported a dip in income and are expecting another drop in September due to Costa Rica’s low season.

They are currently looking forward to visiting Thailand for the first time after being invited to deliver their first presentation together at the next TBEX event.

This month they also got approved for rich pins on Pinterest which has resulted in their referral traffic from Pinterest soaring up!

#8) DigitalNomadWannabe.com – $4,772.00 (+$42.00)

digitalnomadSharon has had a better month in August after slowing down and staying in one place for a couple of weeks! This allowed her to catch up on things properly for the first time since they reached Europe.

Her main goal continues to be increasing affiliate income on Where’s Sharon and she’s excited to report that all earnings this month came from affiliate commissions and Google Adsense.

Going forward Sharon will be mainly focusing on two new projects; her new niche sites and a new SEO course!

#9) Untemplater.com – $4,052.00 (-$78.00)

untemplaterAfter spending just over 3 weeks backpacking around California and the east coast Sydney is aiming to step up on her personal and career goals.

They’re moving steadily forward as traffic began to rise again in August and she’s excited about a new freelancing job that could potentially be a huge boost to her monthly income!

After switching to Genesis she is happy to report that the site is now fully responsive and going forward she hopes to keep expenses lower now that she has finished her travels.

#10) MissBiziBee.com – $2,720.00 (-$580.69)

bizziAfter a slow start to the month and her first drop in income since february things eventually picked up for Kaitlin and didn’t end as badly as she had been anticipating.

She’s seeing a solid monthly increase in traffic and Etsy continues to bring in the majority of income. She’s recently launched a new digital product and although only 2 sold in August she’s excited about growing completely passive income!

Still struggling with finding time to get things done Kaitlin has made the decision to leave her day job in October meaning she’ll be able to stay 100% focused on her site.

#11) TrueValhalla.com – $1,437.00 (-$1,511.00)

TrueValhallaAugust was a very productive month for Matt but not the most profitable with updates to his games going out for free and little new business coming in.

He admits that he hasn’t been proactive about finding new business recently but plans to change that in October. He took his first holiday of the year this month in the Gold Coast Australia and took 11 out of 31 days off.

Having finished the update to his book he’s currently planning the launch while also working on 6 new games in production and a top secret new product!

#12) OneHourProfessor.com – $696.94 (-$801.34)

ohpRon’s had one of his most productive months ever! He smashed all of his goals for the month including disclosing his Authority Website from his experiment and finishing his first book.

He also made a nice income from consulting this month and his other income streams continue to steadily climb. He’s planning to write more than ever before this month and hopes to see the hard work pay off.

After relying on Udemy to host his courses he will soon be creating a dedicated area for courses on OneHourProfessor.

He’s also excited to be working on a new one which he hopes will become the flagship course for the site!

#13) DumbPassiveIncome.com – $696.88 (-$2,616.17)

DumbPassiveIncomeAfter an Incredible July Matt knew earnings would be down in August, although at the time of writing he speculates that this month is already looking much better!

He enjoyed a weeks holiday from his day job camping with his family this month while fitting in some work on the site in the early hours.

Taking a step back he has realised that having several niche sites and spreading his time thinly over them isn’t paying off and plans to focus mainly on his newest site for the foreseeable future.

#14) IncomeMesh.com – $427.66 (-$386.10)

incomemeshDrazen has spent a lot of time throughout August and September working on a new design for IncomeMesh and says we should expect more visual changes in the near future.

After using Google Analytics filters to hide figures from spam bots he is excited to be seeing some real numbers.

This showed lower bounce rates, the appearance of less traffic, higher session durations and a higher percentage of organic traffic.

Going forward he will be working on improving the new site design and adding new features while also concentrating on improving traffic and conversions.

#15) MyPathToPassiveIncome.com – $22.50 (+$11.50)

mypathtopassiveincomeNew to the lineup this month with a brand new site is Esteban sharing his journey from the very beginning with his third income report showing his best month so far.

Although he lost a few days of work this month to celebrating his birthday and the recovery that follows, he’s starting to see an increase in visitors to the site and beginning to see some tangible data in Google Analytics.

He has listed his goals in his report and plans to include them every month until he reaches them in order to hold himself accountable and give himself the push he needs to work harder.

Good luck!

In Summary

For some of the sites in the lineup the end of holiday season means that traffic and sales start to steadily increase, while those who rely on the holiday season have had to begin putting other streams of income in place to avoid too much of an impact on income.

We had another newcomer to the lineup this month sharing their journey from the very start so it will be great to watch how that site grows!

After a particularly impressive month for income all around last month a drop this month was inevitable and the total income of all the sites featured has fallen from $180,045.45 to $145,905.56 this month.

That said, with new income streams being added to each site all the time it will be very interesting to see how things pick up in the near future!

If you feel inspired to start your own blog then why don’t you start a blog now? It only takes a few minutes!

Performance Tracking

I only include the earnings history of the top 10 blogs each month to make the graphs easy to read.

I’m having a problem with the graph right now and will update the post when fixed

  5. 9.28.2015

Thanks for the roundup! Lots of us had downward swings so I’m super impressed with #2 Jon’s giant upswing! I came out down overall but pretty close to flat so I can’t complain.

I am super happy with Genesis so far and am really glad I got through my site redesign. I’ll never try to do another major upgrade like that right before going on the road for three weeks though! :)

Here’s hoping September will close up for us all!

    • September 29th, 2015 at 10:00 am

Yeah August can be tricky for a lot of businesses because that’s when it gets warm in a lot of countries and people like to go on pesky holidays instead of reading blogs, bahhhh!

Jon Haver really did very well last month and i read about that already on his blog. Its great to see that hard work always pays off and that has been a great motivation for me.

  15. Matt, such a great idea to collect income reports of many bloggers! It’s a super-concentrated inspirational post!
Also, I have discovered so many great bloggers! I knew only one person from the list (Matt from DumbPassiveIncome.com).

I wonder if you could include it in your next post about September :) it would be great :)
