Income Report Roundup – September 2013

Income report roundupOne of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

Here we go-

#1) – $13,435.75 (+$6,351.25)

PinchOfYumThe PinchOfYum team make a great recovery this month and take the top spot for the first time!

The launch of their new Cauliflower Sauce eBook landed them a cool $1,778!

It is great to see the team become the teacher, landlord and inventor! Kudos for the hard work guys!

#2) – $13,433 (-$1,434.00)

ACoupleTravelersPosting a slight loss but still an impressive profit – Dave/Vicky get knocked off the top spot after a 3 month reign.

They have continued to invest in their revenue stream by buying out websites/blogs and adding them to their portfolio!

Interesting to see they are already setting their 2014 goals! I’ll be meeting up with them for the 2nd time this year next weekend =D

#3) – $7,248.00 (+$1,098.00)

LeavingWorkBehindIt’s nice to see Tom recovering from last month’s drop after getting back to business this month!

He has taken a step back and looked at the bigger picture giving him a clear focus on where he wants to take the business over the coming year.

We’ll just assume last month’s drop was a temporary blip ^^

#4) – $6,432.88 (-$255.24)

Matthew WoodwardI tried to take as much of the month off as possible and managed to maintain income levels.

I didn’t take on any consultation work either so it was nice to see affiliate income rise!

I actually took most of September off as well so don’t expect next month to be much better :P

#5) – $5,104.00 (-$2,102.00)

TrueValhallaMatt has posted some very impressive months recently so it’s a shame to see that come to an end.

He did spend most of his time moving house and helping out a fellow game developer with financial troubles! Kudos to Matt for that!

He also launched a new blog so it will be great to see that grow now all of the foundations are in place!

#6) – $4,527.00 (+$2,685.00)

GodOfSEOCharles was a new entry last month and has published a huge increase this month!

This month he seems to have a common trend of getting banned from everywhere though – we’ll see how that affects things next month!

#7) – $3,070.45 (+$421.01)

LostCyclistQuinton has gently increased profits the last couple of months and breaks the $3k barrier for the first time!

Great to see he is doing so well with Amazon – shame we didn’t get an update on his authority site project though!

The harder you work the luckier you get right?

#8) – $2,154.07 (+$75.65)

MomsMakeMoneyDeby has managed to maintain her level of earnings this month.

It is interesting to see she is struggling to earn with Amazon when Quinton is doing so well =\

What is more interesting though is the fact you can make money online by selling sewing patterns!

#9) – $1879.17 (+$1,303.55)

CloudLivingJourneyTungs blog has come along nicely since I first visited it and posts a well deserved increase this month.

This has allowed him to branch out and hire his very first virtual assistant!

He has also spent time putting together a content plan for the next month – stay tuned!

#10) – $1,467.00 (+$23.00)

AvocadoPestoVicky’s cooking blog is still doing well with a small profit according to the ACoupleTravelers report.

Most of the money is coming from direct advertising through the blogging partnership.

Would be great to see Vicky take a leaf out of PinchOfYums book and create her own recipe book!

#11) – $401.97 (-$39.79)

My4HrWorkWeekEric has had a tough time recently and posts a small loss this month.

This had led him to get a real job and consider options for his online business!

It’s a shame to see one of our most diversified earners in this position – hopefully he bounces back!

In Summary

Who would have thought a Cauliflower Sauce recipe book was all that was needed to claim the top spot? Congratulations to the PinchOfYum team are in order!

Adding a huge $6,351.25 to their bottom line they also post the biggest increase this month out of any of the bloggers featured.

Worryingly though it seems less and less people are posting their income reports. Last month there were 16 and now there are just 11 remaining out of the 22 I have tracked since launching these roundups.

Even though there are 5 less blogs we have managed to break the collective $60,000 barrier!!!!

Last month the bloggers earnt a combined total of $54,159.68 – which has increased to $60,023.73 this month!!!

    hi Matthew

I haven’t seen anyone else in the IM industry feature multiple income reports and spotlight other pro bloggers and their earnings…

Where did you get the idea from, and what’s your plan for 2014 in regard to these income reports? :)

    • September 30th, 2013 at 11:36 am

      I don’t see why not ^^

Just seems like the kind of thing people want to read!

      • September 30th, 2013 at 3:06 pm

Plus, I’m sure you get some traffic and backlinks from the blogs featured on this post, eh? ;)

  2. Matthew- As always, thanks for continuing to include me in these roundups.

Just wanted to clarify one thing though – my recent online struggles haven’t led me to get a real job. In fact, I’ve had a “real job” for several years as a CPA (accountant). My online ventures are currently just a “side project” for me (although I hope to grow my earnings soon).

    Thanks again!

      No worrys :)

Ahhh sorry about that – I’ll clean it up in the next report :)

Amazing incomes. One thing is that, why do these bloggers publish their income on the web. Are there any reasons for this?

  4. 9.30.2013

Featuring other bloggers with their income reports every month is a superb thing, both for your blog and you as it allows you to build a great relationship with them.
You are doing a great work on this blog, Matthew, especially the tutorials on different softwares and how to use them.
    Great work mate :)

Thanks Arbaz – im hoping they get some decent traffic from it anyway =D

  5. 9.30.2013

It’s amazing how much these cooking blogs are making, and I see more and more of them popping up all the time… Thanks for the list, Matt. I look forward to your breakdown post :)

    • September 30th, 2013 at 3:45 pm

Shame you can’t make one about making cheese on toast

      • September 30th, 2013 at 6:08 pm

It is called a Grilled Cheese and there is probably room for such a niche. After all, a plain Grilled Cheese is kind of boring, but a blog that focused on souping it up, Yum. :O)

      • October 2nd, 2013 at 9:35 pm

Yeah, a cheesy-toast blog would CRUSH it =)

        • October 4th, 2013 at 8:45 am

Cheese on toast with feta & jalapeños is where its at!

  6. 9.30.2013

    Hi Matt,

Is there a way to join your reports? Or is it only for some “special” group of people?

  8. 9.30.2013

I don’t produce an income report, but might do seeing as there is interest. Last month was actually a bumper month with a profit of £15,870 ($25,692 USD). Saying that, there is no way I would release a list of clients – I know what vultures SEO’s are ;-)

  13. 10.1.2013

Indeed, this is a refresher income report. At least, there is a change at the blogs that make the top earners.

Its still good to know that and are still in the top 5.

A good combined earnings from the report of bloggers in the month of September.

Very cool post – it is great to see a lot of the IM blogs I already follow get ranked together on one page. I have been posting income reports for my sites for a while at in case I qualify for the list :)

  19. 10.20.2013

Very interesting blog post. I love reading other people’s income reports and learning what they do to make money. I also include an income report on my MDI blog. I not only include my online earnings, but also earnings I make offline. If you want you can add my blog to the list. If you do that would be great and I would really appreaciate that.

Thanks for sharing all the info.

    Well done pinch Of Yum!
However I nearly fell of my chair though when I saw the sister site, For women, by women, absolutely, positively, no men allowed.
If I started a blog like that, as a man, I would have women picketing 24/7 outside my house and most likely get my eyes scratched out, or just imagine the hysteria if I started a blog for black/white people only.
I’m amazed that kind of thing still goes on in 2013.

There are plenty of blogs/websites/magazines/tv shows like that
