Income Report Roundup – May 2014

Income report roundupOne of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

Here we go-

#1) – $22,280.50 (+$5,161.58)

PinchOfYumAnother month and another number 1 spot for the food blogging duo!

It is great to see these guys continue to grow in what many people consider an impossible niche to make money from! I wondered if they could break $20k this month, well the proof is in the pudding!

They continue to make huge income from advert sales while growing their own range of products and offering advice to other food bloggers.

#2) – $13,493.00 (+$1,393.00)

MakingSenseofCentsMichelle finally took the jump to full time IM this year and has just posted her best month yet!

This is her third year of blogging and she has has seen great success growing quicker than ever before this year!

She has some great plans laid out in her income report to keep growing this year – good luck!

#3) – $12,357.33 (+$1,568.20)

Matthew WoodwardAfter seeing a drop in income last month I was able to pull it back this month.

In fact traffic was actually down and was distracted most the month with Snowbombing, the UK Blog Awards and moving country.

I have big plans for the coming months but I’m expecting to see a big drop in my next income report which will be ready in 2 days. But who knows, every month I have done the bare minimum – income has increased.

#4) – $7,020.66 (+$633.72)

MomsMakeMoneyDeby has spent most of her time focused on her other sites but has still posted a nice increase this month.

She is having a rough time with Google updates and declining traffic and seems shocked at the prices of hiring an SEO expert to fix the issues.

The problem with SEO experts, is anyone that actually knows how to rank websites consistently – isn’t cheap to hire. Their time is better spent building & ranking their own sites for much much larger financial rewards.

#5) – $4,935.30 (+$704.80)

RatRaceGradLast month Jennifer told us that the 31st of May will mark the last day of living the rat race.

This can be a nervous time for anyone but Jennifer has put in the blood, sweat & tears in her spare time to build an online income.

Looking back at when I did this, my friends told me how stupid I was to give up a high paying job and pursue my passion. Now I live in paradise, they don’t. Good luck with your first full month of freedom Jennifer!

#6) – $3,198.00 (+$821.00)

TrueValhallaMatt had a rough time with tax season last month and was distracted by hosting problems this month.

That came at the expense of now only his time to fix the problems, but also a huge loss in income.

Although he finished the month 2 weeks behind on work, he still managed to pull his income back for a nice increase this month! Everyone’s a winner!

#7) – $1,501.49 (-$983.66)

DumbPassiveIncomeOn the surface it looks like Matt has had a bad month but he has actually reinvested his profits on a number of fronts.

First he has hired virtual assistants to free up his time & help grow the business & secondly in links from various networks to bolster his Amazon & Adsense sites.

Unfortunately he made the moved to WPEngine this month & we all know why they should be avoided.

#8) – $1,327.92 (-$348.07)

MyTanFeetYeison & Samantha fell short of their personal target this month & ended up with less money.

The reason for this was because they were so focused on making money and hitting that target, they forgot about the core values that got them there in the first place.

In the first 22 days they only made $39.48 – but once they change their attitude and forgot about the money, they made nearly $1,300 in 9 days. Kudos!

#9) – $851.31 (-$456.37)

MakeMoneyLessonsDean has seen a huge drop off in earnings this month compared to last month.

I would love to be able to tell you why that is but his income reports are becoming less and less informative.

If next month’s doesn’t add any value and purely reports on numbers, I will cut it from the round up next month. If you have published 3 monthly income reports consistently that add value, let me know.

#10 – $221.53 (-$394.43)

My4HrWorkWeekAll of Eric’s income streams are truly passive in his spare time.

However the drop off this month is due to the fact he has spent most of his time & energy buying his first house – congratulations!

At the moment he is spending time thinking about the future of his online business and where he would like to take it, would love to see Eric quit his full time job in the future and pursue the dot com lifestlye!

In Summary

Compared to last month the rankings look pretty much the same, the only thing that has changed is how much money everyone earned!

Last month we saw a huge drop down to $57,779.59 in total which has increase to a grand total of $67,187.04 this month!!

It is great to see the collective earnings on an upwards trend again and I hope this continues next month. Although personally I have been hugely distracted with travelling around Costa Rica and the very slow pura vida lifestyle here.

I would love to include more blogs in these round ups so if you publish monthly income reports that offer value & have published at least 3 consistently get in touch!

My new income report will be ready in 2 days, it has been a very rough & challenging month on all fronts to say the least.

It is always an excitement to see your income report. Especially while we are working hard towards our first breakthrough in IM. Keep up the good work bro.

Be on the lookout I will be publishing my first earnings report this month. Had over $1000 topline, mostly one web design gig, and some small amazon revenue, but reinvested almost all of it into a Hoth Platinum package and a PBN with Jon Haver……

Hi Matt – Thanks for posting the “round up”. Will be anxious to see your earnings and see how they fared with your move and all.

Like Scott I am beginning to see some nice earnings and thinking about publishing an income report. I have been scared to do so as I wasn’t sure if my website visitors really cared about such things.

Can you give your advice on why a person should post an earnings report and what you feel they should include in it.

    THanks in advance.

    Hi Matt,

That post is inspiration on drugs for me. What would be great for learners like me is as post on what are the 5 things that all of you are doing in common to maintain/increase traffic/revenues which could be a rule book for people like me.

    • June 1st, 2014 at 9:38 pm

The 1 thing I know we all do and have in common is – consistency.

  9. bashoo

why dont you put adsense ads ?

    • June 1st, 2014 at 9:38 pm

Because I don’t need Adsense and doubt I would make anyway near as much money

      • June 2nd, 2014 at 12:34 am

AdSense is overrated. When you have enough traffic to make it worth using, there are better alternatives.

  10. 6.1.2014

I don’t own the .com :P and well Alexa ranking is meaningless really

  13. 6.2.2014

Yes, its great to see the collective earnings on an upwards trend again. Bloggers and marketers can learn a lot from this. From this list, appeals to me. The hitches she has with Google updates and how she still made profit is something to learn by newbies!

In, this article was shared for Internet marketers, and I have left the above comment after reading the post.

      Thanks for the share!

This income report pulls out all the emotions from me. It makes me happy, motivated and makes me work even harder.

I am happy that you allow anyone to get listed here. The cumulative earnings has been higher and I am certain it will go even higher.

I will too start publishing income reports once I get enough dollars.

Anyway, I found this on kingged.

    • June 3rd, 2014 at 7:47 pm

Well let me know when you have 3 published consecutively and I will throw yours into the mix as well :)

Great work! I’ve been averaging 2,216.15 the past (5) months. Redbubble Product Sales, Adsense, Amazon Affiliate Earnings, Sponsorship, Flippa Website Sales, Freelance projects, and just tried Bluehost this month but no conversions yet. I hope to have them posted soon. I have them on a google doc now, that’s been keeping me accountable.

    • June 23rd, 2014 at 1:17 am

Sounds liek you have a nice mix of things going on! My friend gets a bunch of conversion with Bluehost :)

  16. 6.21.2014

Great work Matt! Even though you say you are doing the bare minimum. All the hard work and heavy lifting was done a long time ago to see the results you are getting now. Smart work pays off!

    • June 23rd, 2014 at 1:06 am

Well thats true and you have to take a break sometime :) But not too long or all the hard work gets undone. Back in the driving seat today :)
