One of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.
So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.
If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!
Here we go-
#1) MatthewWoodward.co.uk – $14,829.04 (+$4,960.79)
For the first time ever I have come out on top of my own roundup!
I spent most of my time working on my new course but that didn’t stop the income from rising!
It will be interesting to see if that trend has continued as I have been distracted this month as well.
#2) MakingSenseofCents.com – $13,454.00 (+$814.00)
Michelle is a relevant new comer to the roundup but continues to grow!
She has done that this month in a couple of ways. First of all she took on 2 more paid writing jobs.
Secondly and most importantly she reached the point where she could increase her prices across the board – there is a lesson in that!
#3) PinchOfYum.com – $13,114.95 (-$4,621.02)
The food blogging duo are consistently placed in the tops spots, but have taken a knock this month.
This comes from having less advertiser budget made available to them due to the dreaded ad budget cycle. They have also seen revenue per thousand impressions drop to $7.95.
On the flip side they have been busy building some awesome tools & content for food bloggers – looking forward to that!
#4) GodOfSEO.co – $12,989.00 (-$8,154.00)
Charles dominated the round up last month but has taken one of the biggest hits we have ever seen.
That is for good reason though – Charles was starting to get weighed down with client work so reduced the number of clients he worked with to focus on the most profitable.
He has also started to put together his own agency team to free up his time which has come at an initial cost.
#5) RatRaceGrad.com – $6,191.04 (+$3,486.27)
Luck doesn’t exist – it is purely a product of when preparation meets opportunity. Jennifer is the perfect example of that.
She has had a great month not only seeing the sale of some of her websites, but also on her way to launching her first product by accident.
Jennifer has also done some interesting stuff with solo ads – I wonder how I could leverage solo ads on this blog?
#6) Moms-Make-Money.com – $5,352.62 (+$93.72)
This time last year Deby earned $837.08 – this year is a different story though.
In fact she made more than that this month purely though selling sewing patterns online – awesome!
She has had a bad experience with a company called Mad Ads that ended up having her site infected with malware and removed from Google results.
#7) TrueValhalla.com – $2,914.00 (-$819.00)
Matt’s income has declined for the second month running – but he has a plan!
He is busy working away on the 2nd edition of his book as well as growing income through the HTML5 games he has developed.
Matt is busy laying all of the ground work to make a big bang in the months to come through his blog, game development and establishing footholds with new technology.
#8) MyTanFeet.com – $1,608.79 (+$134.87)
Yeison & Samantha’s earnings continue to grow even though they spent 2 weeks visiting hotels, restaurants & getting surf lessons from a 7 time national champion.
They really do know how to fully embrace the blogging lifestyle! They even randomly bump into readers locally who used the blog to research their trip.
This month they are looking to break the $2,000 barrier – good luck guys!
#9) DumbPassiveIncome.com – $971.10 (-$436.58)
The third Matt in the income report round up has hit tough times this month.
Don’t let that fool you though – he has grown leaps and bounds in recent times and had a record month of income.
Unfortunately that comes with a record amount of expense but the profit seed has been planted for future harvest!
#10) MakeMoneyLessons.com – $721.05 (-$313.92)
Dean has had a frustrating month where things didn’t seem to go his way.
He had put a lot of effort into promoting a music event which got cancelled due to an issue with the venue and local authority.
This came at great cost as he spent less time on paid writing work. Next month will be different
#11 My4HrWorkWeek.com – $326.08 (-$22.49)
All of Eric’s income is made up from truly passive sources meaning he has to do zero work to generate it.
He has spent the last couple of months on his new blogging project which is gaining traction quickly.
At some point in the future he plans to monetize that project but for the mean time he is just focused on building something awesome.
Last month saw 2 of the main blogs I tracked stop publishing income reports which saw a huge hit to the overall numbers.
This month has also seen some huge income hits for some of the bigger blogs which hasn’t helped things.
Last month the blogs earned a combined total of $77,349.00 which has dropped this month to $72,471.64 =/
That is quite far away from the $90,000 target I was hoping we could hit collectively.
Although the common trend amongst the blogs that took big hits is they have spent time restructuring and planning things to help them grow.
Every blogger/business owners goes through this at some stage so the next few months should be an interesting ride!
I only include the earnings history of the top 10 blogs each month to make the graphs easy to read.
