Income Report Roundup – June 2015

One of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

Here we go-

#1) – $24,946.00 (-$550.19)

PinchOfYumAfter 3 years of publishing income reports the team have decided to change it up this month.

In an unconventional move they will no longer be writing detailed reports on everything they have been up to which is a huge shame.

Instead they’re leaving it to the readers to decide what they want to know in their awesome new 48 hour Q & A session.

#2) – $20,635.00 (-$11,839.00)

MakingSenseofCents After posting her best month ever last month due to selling another website, this month Michelle has seen a fairly large dip in income.

With that in mind she still reports her best month ever for affiliate income and reminds us all of what you can achieve if you have a dream and work hard!

After selling three websites she now has the freedom to devote her time to more important areas of her business so watch this space.

#3) – $17,643.67 (-$8,639.74)

Matthew Woodward As expected the jam-packed schedule of the past 6 weeks has been reflected with a drop this month.

I’m not sure how I actually managed to fit in everything I did this month but after returning from my travels and finding a new house I’m finally getting back to business.

I won’t be doing any more travelling this year as I’ve decided my attention will be purely going into my own personal and business development.

#4) – $11,761.00 (+$5,415.00)

cubiclehoudini Quinton reports gains this month for the first time since February but speculates that net profits will continue to shrink due to their aggressive re-investment.

This month he had an epiphany and realised he had been focusing on entirely the wrong thing for his business.

His new systems are steadily falling into place, they are sorting out the problems and already seeing a noticeable difference.

#5) – $8,364.00 (-$6,757.03)

AuthorityWebsiteIncome Jon continues to smash his own income targets for the blog which is incredible considering he spent the fewest amount of hours ever on it this month.

He’s a perfect example of how you can achieve online success while juggling the demands of a job and family as he battles through this intensely busy period.

Interestingly he’s also looking forward to recovering up to $3,500 in missing commissions as none of his clicks were counting even though he was sending a huge amount of traffic – something everyone should keep an eye on!

#6) – $5,542.00 (-$4,921.00)

TrueValhallaMatt keeps it short and sweet this month posting a huge drop in revenue from last month.

Once again his plans to work on his passion project full-time were interrupted, this time by an overwhelming interest in HTML5 sponsorships.

He’s still playing catch up after suffering a hand injury last month but is powering on through the workload so that he can resume work on his project Aeon Chapters.

#7) – $5,156.70 (+$1,115.48)

MyTanFeetYeison & Samantha settled down to catch up on some work in May, finding new projects and continuing to work hard on their affiliate platform for Costa Rica.

They were ecstatic to announce their best month yet, breaking the 5k barrier and half way towards their 10k goal!

They are considering relocating their income reports next month and weighing up the benefit vs. effort ratio so we will have to wait and see what happens in June.

#8) DigitalNomadWannabe – $2,742.00 (+$1,110.00)

digitalnomad Sharon has been breezing through the month and hitting some new records.

She’s happy to be exactly where she was aiming to be by the start of June – in a position where passive income is enough to cover all of the costs as they travel Europe!

After some drama around outages on the site she has fixed her hosting situation and is relieved to bring an end to a stressful couple of weeks, with a busy 4 months of exploring Bankok and Europe planned.

#9) – $2,506.20 (+$291.89)

freeyounowOne of our newest entries to the roundup, Paul is posting yet another small increase this month as his blogging income continues to grow steadily.

Astonishingly he’s still ploughing through and maintaining his pace of writing one blog post per day. That’s a total of 31 blog posts in May!

His traffic has picked up and his mentoring work continues to be his highest income stream at the moment, although he does have plans in place for what he hopes will become long term passive income.

#10) – $1,275.30 (+$822.70)

bizziWe can see another great month for Kaitlin as the blog steadily progresses.

Traffic showed another increase, up by 67% – the majority of traffic is originating from Kaitlin’s Pinterest board and Etsy continues to dominate the income stream.

After moaning for long enough about having to write her income reports for the past 5 months Kaitlin has managed to delegate the task to her husband Travis!

They’ll be changing the style of the reports for a more in-depth look at what drives Miss Bizi Bee while Kaitlin works on her goal of finding more time to promote the blog and build traffic.

#11) – $587.97 (-$1,046.75)

DumbPassiveIncomeMatt has seen a big drop in earnings this month.

He reveals that his best affiliate income months are the ones where he posted regularly – something he admits he hasn’t been doing in recent months.

Although he acknowledges that this is his biggest failure in May he says the trend is set to continue as he focuses on building his niche site income.

#12) – $503.76 (+$149.40)

incomemeshIt’s great to see another of our newest additions to the roundup posting another increase with his best month so far.

Drazen didn’t publish any new articles this month because he was busy working on his guide which is set to be 5000+ words long – he promises it’s going to be a treat.

Despite the lack of articles he still managed to break his $500 barrier and admits to being a little lazy and distracted.

With that in mind his goal is to work harder to publish more articles, promote the blog, grow his email list and reach $1000 per month!

#13) – $48.10 (+$140.60)

PhilipPhilip posts his first ever profit this month and moves up out of the last spot in the roundup with a little hard work and perseverance!

He has had a little disappointment with a Udemy course being rejected this month (don’t take it to heart they like to do that) and is hoping to have his Kindle book published by July.

Traffic was less this month but his organic traffic from Google is steadily rising, and with only four posts published this month he is aiming to take things up a gear with some quality content and focus on the affiliate side of things to further increase his income!

#14) – -$417.91 (-$12,417.91)

passiontopaychecksLast months newcomer Josh has seen a huge plummet, after posting his best revenue ever last month, this month sees his worst month ever in terms of income.

This is due to the sale of his top earning niche site last month but he’s not worried as he has a couple of projects brewing behind the scenes.

He created a logo for his product brand this month and now has lots of free time during summer to create some solid content and continue working on his new course.

Although he’s taking some big hits on expenses right now, this is set to pay off in the long run as he starts to make sales on Amazon and his niche sites.

#15) – -$554.40 (-$1,681.76)

ohpThis month for the first time since January Ron has reported a loss.

His Udemy course didn’t take off as well as he was hoping for and he was advised to abandon OneHourProfessor and focus on an authority website to prove he could create a profitable online business.

That didn’t sit right with him though so he’ll be creating his new authority website experiment instead and documenting every step on the site!

After a dissapointing month for income he speculates that June could be his best month yet, so we will have to wait and see exactly what he has in store!

In Summary

Last month brought 1 new blogger to the roundup with no newbies this month, it’s great to see how these new blogs are growing, the challenges they face and how they overcome them all whilst sharing their knowledge.

There’s been some interesting changes in the running order of the list this month with a few sites deciding not to continue with income reports while others have reappeared after continuing them.

Last month all of the blogs featured earned a combined total of $123,314.81, but this month that has taken a downward turn to $100,739.39.

About half of the blogs posted a loss and the other half gains, some of those losses being considerable hence the drop in the grand total. Keep a close eye though as these guys have some interesting projects in the pipeline!

If you feel inspired to start your own blog then why don’t you start a blog now? It only takes a few minutes!

Performance Tracking

I only include the earnings history of the top 10 blogs each month to make the graphs easy to read.

I’m having a problem with the graph right now and will update the post when fixed

I’m glad to see my fellow bloggers smashing it online! In my vicinity, people do not even believe one can earn a good living online just by blogging. I’m just happy with my little blog which has been generating me more than $2k every month just with affiliate marketing. I launched the blog in December, 2013 but i started earning ( started small of course) from it just from september, 2014 till date. Just maintain a steady flow of traffic and the $$$ will be flowing in :). This month, it made me $4.6k richer. I wouldn’t like to be included in this list because i find it a daunting task to publish monthly income reports – i rather focus on things more important to grow the site. Besides, i’m still a college student and have to study hard to pass my exams, so i’ve got no time :)

Good to see you have stayed consistent throughout – keep pressing :)

  2. 6.26.2015

    Wow! Very impressive!
I’m quite impressed with how pinchofyum is staying at the top spot even though their niche IMHO is a very hard one to get into and make a lot of money in.
I know that sometime at the end of the year last year you had a project where you were planning on creating a new blog and making it popular from scratch within 100 days or with $100 or something like that.
Did I miss that, or was that project simply scratched?

    • June 27th, 2015 at 9:00 am

That’s what 5 years of sheer dedication and hard work does for you

Yes that is going to be part of a course which is around 40% complete but I have decided to shelve it while I work on something else first.

I wish someday my website will be in this list.

  4. 6.26.2015

So you are telling that I have made more than :D

  5. Shakeer Mohamed

    Thanks for this post

  6. 6.27.2015

John Haver has uncovered so many errors in his affiliate marketing commissions. It’s a good reminder that we need to track everything. Good luck to him getting it back. That’s so dang frustrating.

    • June 27th, 2015 at 8:58 am

Yeah it’s part and parcel of the industry unfortunately

  7. 6.27.2015

Hi Matt, i’ve been reading your site for about a year now, and unfortunately just decided to try my hand in this internet marketing thing. These income reports I bet motivate a lot of people as well I suppose, however, is it still possible to build a totally new site and get it going?

In your opinion, are niche sites dead?

Thanks for any words you may have, greetings from Costa Rica

    • June 27th, 2015 at 8:58 am

Let me introduce you to the blog of my #1 students – read through their historic income reports. I’m in Guanacaste

      • June 27th, 2015 at 1:04 pm

That’s awesome, I don’t know how I missed their page! On the other hand ours is kinda the same, lol

I didn’t know you were still in Guanacaste that is so awesome, we go to Coco and Hermosa a lot, but haven’t been in a while.
If you are ever in SJ let us buy you a beer, please!
Have a great day, and thanks for answering

        • June 29th, 2015 at 3:41 pm

Its unlikely you will find me anywhere close to SJ, city life blurgh

  8. 6.27.2015

How do I get to monetize my blog? I’m giving my site a face lift and activating it again. Help

  9. 6.27.2015

Love this roundup Matt. Congrats to everyone on the list, and to everyone making a living online.

I’m actually thinking about publishing a monthly stats report for my blog. Much like an income report, I think it’ll be a good way to show people exactly how I’m growing the site so they can take some of that knowledge to help grow theirs.

    • June 29th, 2015 at 3:42 pm

When you have published 3 let me know and I will feature you here

  10. Allan Francisco

It has been a long time since i have visited your blog Matthew, yet the income report is one of my favorite part and i wish i could be a part of it someday, a lot of new faces in the roundup now.

  11. 6.27.2015

Pretty inspiring stuff ngl! I’ll be at your level one day, you can bet on it ;).

  12. 6.29.2015

Hi Matthew, how can I become part of this roundup as I am going to publish my first income report this weekend.

    • July 6th, 2015 at 10:27 am

You have to publish 3 consecutively to be featured

        July 6th, 2015 at 10:30 am

        Thanks buddy

  13. 6.29.2015

    Awesome ! very interesting :)
    P.S : I think you have had a little mistyping on #13 .

  14. Very impressive round-up! It is always nice to see how bloggers are doing. And of course very nice numbers as well :)

  15. 7.4.2015

I’ll eventually sort my blog out and be here Matthew! haha. Hope Costa is treating you well!

  16. 7.6.2015

    Hi Matthew

I’m only new to your site, but have already spent too much time on your site and not working on my own. lol

Anyway, I’m loving this Roundup Group you’ve created and noticed it’s growing in numbers over time.

Do you actively, find new people to add to the group, or do they find you?

When asked about whether this making money on-line thing is real, I always refer them to your group.

Also, I just wanted to say, I think doing this open reporting is making a difference with the working from home naysayers.

    • July 7th, 2015 at 12:57 pm

      Hahaha sorry about that :)

I invite anyone to be part of the roundup as long as they have published 3 consecutively.

Let the work from home naysayers remain naysayers, the less people that know the better :)

  17. 7.10.2015

Another fabulous and inspirational roundup! I started publishing my own income reports after finding yours earlier this year. I felt a bit weird about publishing my progress publicly at first, but I got over the weirdness and now it really helps me stay motivated and track my stats much closer. So thank you for the inspiration! I’ve published four already and have my fifth coming out shortly. I hope I can be one of the next newbies in your list! :)

  18. 7.10.2015

    Great Roundup Matthew ..

I’m curious .. you mention how popular these income posts are. I know in your case the income reports are adding to the value & transparency, but for other blogs (travel blog, etc) what is the incentive for bloggers reporting their income? Great for traffic perhaps, but is there something else I’m missing?

BTW – great line-up of really interesting bloggers. I wish them all continued success!

    • July 13th, 2015 at 3:05 pm

It holds them personally accountable, something that is often lost when working for yourself ironically

  19. 9.29.2015

Only just seen this report summary for the first time. Have spent an hour following the links, reading their reports, looking at their sites and taking lots of notes.

This is gold dust for those who want to learn.

  20. ghadeercomm

thank you for a good article

  21. Andrew
