Income Report Roundup – June 2014

Income report roundupOne of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

If you feel inspired by this post – start your own blog right now!

Here we go-

#1) – $23,378.49 (+$1,097.99)

PinchOfYumThe PinchOfYum team believes it takes grit, luck and the desire to continuously improve to succeed – they are right!

The team have been focused on improving their ad viewability which makes up a good portion of their earnings.

It’s great to see they have managed to maintain a steady RPM this month as well, a metric that I might start tracking in my own income reports!

#2) – $21,135.00 (+$6,651.00)

AuthorityWebsiteIncomeA newcomer to the list that is certainly coming in strong at the number 2 spot!

He has spent the last 5 years building his empire online and as you can see, the hard work is certainly paying off!

There are 3 distinct divisions in his online business which include passive sites, authority sites & expired domain services – check out his income report for more details.

#3) – $21,058.00 (+$17,860.00)

TrueValhallaAfter a tough few months for Matt its fantastic to see him dominating again!

This month marks the two year anniversary of his business and while it has been a stressful month it was certainly financially rewarding.

His HTML5 games were played over a million times which is a very impressive number – congratulations on a fantastic month Matt!

#4) – $14,345.48 (+$1,988.15)

Matthew WoodwardI travelled to Costa Rica this month & was expecting a drop in income but it actually increased.

Managing the blog, other sites, moving country, old/new friends & an entirely new lifestyle all at the same was a huge challenge for me!

But it was great to see that even though I didn’t work that much, income increased. That is the 3rd time that has happened now, weird =/

#5) – $12,747.00 (-$886.96)

MakingSenseofCentsMichelle had her best month yet last month but has been focused on her wedding this month!

She is worried about the small drop in income but that’s the blogging life – we all hit a plateau at some point so don’t worry.

It is great to see she is investing her newly found free time in other things except for growing her business, that’s the dot lifestyle right there!

#6) – $7,907.62 (+$886.96)

MomsMakeMoneyDeby posts a nice increase this month as she slowly grows her income online.

It’s a shame she is having problems with the BlogHer ad network, have you considered doing your own with banner advertising software?

What is very impressive though is after the recent Panda 4.0 update, Google traffic nearly doubled to her site! Hurraah!!

#7) – $6,098.09 (+$1,162.79)

RatRaceGradThis is the last dual paycheck month for Jennifer as she takes the leap & quits her job.

Jennifer makes her income from a range of sources including book royalties, solo ads, Facebook ads, affiliate marketing & more!

It is fantastic to watch someone grow online & eventually quit the rat race – well deserved Jennifer keep up the good fight!

#8) – $2,847.16 (+$1,345.67)

DumbPassiveIncomeMatt continues to grow his income slowly but steadily across a range of activitys.

Most of his earnings come from his Adsense & Amazon sites but he is reinvesting his profits to build out more sites & scale his system!

If you need help with keyword research he also sells some pretty awesome keyword research packages, but numbers are limited.

#9) – $2,576.31 (+$1,248.39)

MyTanFeetYeison & Samantha have had a great month nearly doubling last months income.

They have made a bunch of changes to how they do things which lets them get more done in less time as well as launching 2 new eBooks.

Now the race is on to make as much money as possible before their long trip to Asia, just don’t forget your core values! The race to profit usually ends in tears.

#10) – $856.42 (+$5.11)

MakeMoneyLessonsDean has seen a big drop off in traffic this month but earnings have remained steady.

He has neglected his blog while his time and energy has been focused on creating his new blog due to launch at the end of this month.

Unluckily though he has had some problems with his teeth causing a lot of pain & distraction :(

#11 – $286.28 (+$64.75)

My4HrWorkWeekEric has posted a small increase this month after some turbulent times.

Last month he bought a new house which means this month he has been fully focused on driving things forward online.

He has identified some weaknesses in his blog and is looking to get back to basics while he grows his new venture The Daily Interview.

#12 – -$24.89 (+$0.94)

ranktacticsRizvan is another newcomer this month but unfortunately posts a loss.

Don’t be fooled though, Rizvan is right at the start of his blogging journey and I have no doubt he will strike success over the coming months.

If you recognise his name that is because he wrote this guest post for the blog – so I know he has what it takes :)

In Summary

It is great to add 2 newcomers to the roundup this month after losing some of our bigger players the past few months.

That has resulted in the total income earned reaching $113,210.94 this month which is a huge increase from last months $67,187.04.

It is great to see the collective earnings of everyone featured here break 6 figures in one month – perhaps it is time you started a blog?

There have been some great performances this month and it’s awesome to see the top 3 bloggers all breaking the $20k barrier! This time last year the top 3 earned a total of $24,447 – now the top 3 earn a total of $65,571!

Looks like I’ve got a lot of work to do – my next income report is due in 4 days, let’s see what damage taking 2 weeks off for my birthday has done, eeek!

Thanks for this post. I’ll be one day on the list too ;). Currently I am doing street workout site for Slovenian page. First things first.

Also I’ve made some sport niche site and I’ve made my first 6€ by selling e-book. After that I’ve failed because I sadly deleted my whole site in fillezila. Withouth any backup. “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”

Amazing rounded up, thank Matt for sharing, this article inspire me for blogging

  14. 6.28.2014

    Great post, Matt!
This definitely sustains my theory: that you have to get “married” to your blog and stay faithful all the way – as in, you gotta keep things posted (pun intended). Once you take even the smallest break from it, it’ll show in the numbers. This is a general conclusion after reading your income roundup report for the past couple of months.

On another note, it’s either me visiting your blog less or have you just recently added that “Share on Google+ now” button? :D

Take care and keep us posted. Haha.

    • June 28th, 2014 at 8:32 pm

I added that a while ago but I’m probably going to remove it

  20. 6.29.2014

    Hi Mathew
Very inspirational post. An income report has always been a big source of encouragement if it has rising curve. Such reports in red also drop a lot of lessons to learn. But anyway it needs lot of courage to declare you income report.
Many people don’t much believe in their veracity. I ask how long someone will be deceiving others with misleading figures. Would the person who is showing his income not suffer if he tell lie.
I found this post at King do com so I kingged it.

    • June 29th, 2014 at 5:57 pm

Well theres no point lying about it, the whole point is to track your progress and be accountable for it!

  26. 7.10.2014

    Hi Matt!

I love these posts and am wondering if you would like to include us? I publish income reports on digitalnomadwannabe dot com and would love to be included.

  27. 7.20.2014

Haha it is certainly a crazy world!

  28. 7.24.2014

    Hi Matt,

I really enjoy your income roundup each month, they’ve inspired me to finally set up my own website.

I’m planning to post a monthly update on what I’ve achieved for the site, visitor numbers, shares, etc and what I’ve done to achieve it. Given I’m a complete novice and in a very competitive field (food) I expect progress on growing the site to be slow and so I’m not planning to monetise it until I’ve grown my audience (assuming I can!). Would you be interested in including an “income” report for a site with no income, or would I need to monetise first? I know that sharing each month would really incentivise me to push to grow as much as I can.

    • July 24th, 2014 at 8:00 pm

The only rules are you need to have published 3 detailed reports consecutively – after that you are good to go :)

I’m sure you see one of the best performing blogs here is a food blog, study them well :) They are VERY good at what they do and there are lessons to be learned from all niches.

  29. Hai Matt,

This is an inspiring article for all Blogging newbies like me. Thank you for this great sharing.
