Income Report Roundup – July 2014

PLEASE SHARE

Income report roundupOne of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

If you feel inspired by this post – start your own blog right now!

Here we go-

#1) PinchOfYum.com – $31,073.42 (+$7,694.93)

PinchOfYumThe PinchOfYum team claim the top spot again with another record breaking month!

They have come along way since their first income report in August 2011 or $21.97.

Over the past month they have made a few changes to their blog that should help them increase revenue even further!

#2) MatthewWoodward.co.uk – $16,727.05 (+$2,381.57)

Matthew WoodwardLast month was my birthday and the most the blog has ever earnt!

Strangely I took 2 weeks off entirely and income managed to grow, this has happened every time I’ve taken time off.

I also launched my internet marketing agency which is starting to bear fruit now!

#3) MakingSenseofCents.com – $12,787.00 (+$40.00)

MakingSenseofCentsMichelle started her blog after inspiration from reading income reports, this month she nailed it!

Not only that but she got married and still managed to improve income – congratulations!

She also managed to redesign her entire site & draw on new motivation after reflecting on what it means to be self employed.

#4) Moms-Make-Money.com – $10,728.23 (+$2,820.61)

MomsMakeMoneyDeby’s had a great month this time around posting a huge jump in earnings!

This was mainly due to one of her main affiliate programs having a huge sale which sent commissions crazy.

The only problem is they are now moving from a 30 day cookie to a 1 day cookie which will cost her 96% of earnings. Personally I would stop sending them traffic, dig my heels in and protest to get that changed.

#5) RatRaceGrad.com – $8,550.54 (+$2,452.45)

RatRaceGradLast month Jennifer got the last paycheck from her job, but this month she has hit a home run!

Looks like her first month as her own boss has gone down a storm, earning 2.5x she would have at her job.

She sold a website, picked up some contractor work, made some book sales & has pushed forward with solo ads.

#6) AuthorityWebsiteIncome.com – $7,275.00 (-$13,860.00)

AuthorityWebsiteIncomeAlthough Jon has posted a huge loss this month he is well ahead of his income targets.

The services side of his business took a huge hit, but the passive income websites had a good jump up.

This is because the expenses for his service side business always hit the month after the income arrives.

#7) MyTanFeet.com – $2,659.36 (+$83.05)

MyTanFeetYeison & Samantha nearly doubled income last month and managed to post a small increase this month.

They have started to experiment with their sites which has seen a huge boost in subscribers so far.

With the world cup out of the way they can now focus on growing all of their projects before their big trip!

#8) DumbPassiveIncome.com – $2,602.85 (-$244.31)

DumbPassiveIncomeMatt see’s a small drop this month but is still showing great overall growth.

He has been working hard on some secret projects behind the scenes which has had him distracted slightly, all will be revealed in Autumn!

Although his expenses are starting to get the better of him and he will be paying close attention to those this month.

#9) TrueValhalla.com – $1,533.00 (-$19,525.00)

TrueValhallaMatt had a few tough months and had a screaming month last month, but this month the drop is huge!

This is because he move to Brisbane, Australia which took all of his time & energy instead of working.

He did see his ad revenue from HTML5 games along with book sales grow, but sponsorships suffered a huge drop as he wasn’t actively working.

#10) DigitalNomadWannabe.com – $930.00 (-$490.00)

digitalnomadSharon is a newcomer to the list month and starts off in a good position.

Her income is made up from a range of affiliate sales, travel writing & her gambling product.

She is going to launch a new affiliate site soon and once income is solid plans to move to Kuala Lumpur in Asia, good luck!

#11) My4HrWorkWeek.com – $487.92 (+$201.64)

My4HrWorkWeekEric posts a nice increase this month from his passive income streams!

He also took most of the month off while moving into his new house so it’s good to see the increase while he was distracted.

Now he is thinking about balancing his priority’s between work, family, new home & his online business ventures.

#12) RankTactics.com – $0.60 (+$25.49)

ranktacticsRizvan was new to the roundup last month and posts his first profit this month!

It might only be a small profit but as you have seen, even the top dogs in this roundup start from nothing.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Rizvan grow over the next couple of months, keep a close eye on him!

In Summary

I was happy to add another new blog to the roundup this month as the numbers seem to have been dwindling lately.

Last month the total income earned reached a staggering $113,210.94 which has dropped off to $95,354.97 unfortunately.

But what is interesting is 4 of the 12 blogs tracked here either took all of the month off or most of the month off which is what the dotcom lifestyle is all about!

If you feel inspired to follow in their foot steps then why don’t you start a blog today? It only takes a few minutes!

My next income report is due in a couple of days and it will be interesting to see what a month of hard work has done for me compared to the previous month!

Wow, this is so inspiring reading these income reports. I already follow a couple of them and it’s great to see the gradual progress.

In terms of my site, I’ve just started to implement monetisation strategies in the last 4 weeks or so. I have been be thinking about doing my own income reports for skintdad.co.uk as it really does add a different dimension for the reader.

    Thanks for sharing guys!

  3. 7.29.2014

Thanks for including me!! I am feeling the pressure already which I think is a good thing.

    • July 29th, 2014 at 6:05 pm

Awesome post, and the source of much inspiration. I’ll work through these blogs one by one and take what ideas I can harvest. Thanks :)

    Hi Matthew,

Saw this in my e-mail, sounded like a good read :) It’s so inspirational to read. Really anyone can do it if they really put their minds to it.

It makes me excited and i can’t wait what the (near) future will hold for me!

    Cheers :)

Anyone can do anything they want – if they choose to do it!

  6. 7.29.2014

I’m finding it somewhat depressing that most (?) of the money are made on people trying to replicate and create a living themselves. Even at the food blog (#1), the biggest income source is Bluehost. I’m not complaining or having a rant but I still find it a bit less encouraging.

    • July 29th, 2014 at 6:04 pm

      Hi,

Whats discouraging about that? All I see is that competition is heating up and in the next 5 years the general public will be more than aware they can make a living online.

      • July 29th, 2014 at 8:28 pm

I’m sure it will. I just find it ironic that blogs used as examples on how you can make money online are making a majority of its money by teaching how to make money online. Nothing wrong with it though.

Thanks for posting, this does encourage me…. there’s nothing quite like a shot of inspiration…

  8. 7.29.2014

Great blog and fabulous numbers! Defo worth sharing, and plenty of inspiration.

I love how you showed even the smallest numbers. I´ll never forget the first time I made real money from a technology blog I used to partner on…a whopping 7 bucks! I was so over the moon I went out and celebrated with my partner…in turn spending around $100 for dinner and drinks (LOL!)…true story!

    • July 29th, 2014 at 6:01 pm

My only rules are you post 3 income reports consecutively. It is always amazing to watch a blog climb from zero up the rankings!

That first profit is always a great feeling and really validates things!

  9. 7.29.2014

    Hi Matthew,

I love the income reports that you post. It’s a great inspiration for me. :)

I do have a blog but have not monetized it yet to the extent it needs to be. I have started making money online, but that’s not through my blog but through various freelancing projects and creating blogs for others. That’s where 90% of my income comes from online.

These reports are really inspiring me, telling me that yes, now it’s time for me to monetize my blog and start making money from it too.

BTW, I love the way you approach SEO, I have been following your other posts, and loved them.

      Thanks very much :)

Sounds like you have established yourself well and have a lot to share with the world on your blog! Good luck with moentising it and adding an extra income stream to your belt!

  11. 7.30.2014

    Ohh snap… almost $20k drop. That’s a nightmare!
Hope Matt now can focus on working more online.

Income reports are truly inspiring, thanks for sharing them with us Matthew. Your rock!

    • July 30th, 2014 at 10:21 am

I suppose thats the benefit of building up passive income streams, if you take a month off – earnings stay steady!

    • July 31st, 2014 at 8:24 am

If I consistently made $20K/month that drop would suck, but it was an extreme that I was grateful to have reached in the first place. Even if I had a good month the drop would have been sharp.

July has been better though :)

pinchofyum deserves it’s spot; it’s a good looking website with beautiful pictures.

  13. 7.30.2014

    Hi Matthew,

I currently have a site at http://www.joshshogren.com and I would love to be featured on this income roundup posts! I currently have only two income reports but I am waiting for July to end so I can write my report for July. I saw in the comments that you need to have 3 income reports and I will have three after I write my July report. Let me know if there is any way that this would be able to work, thanks!

  14. 7.31.2014

I guess the extra income is a great addition for your birthday!
It seems you are the only one that did not take a big hit with income for taking a few days off!

    • August 4th, 2014 at 12:03 pm

Actually every time I take a long period of time off, income goes up! Happened a few times now! Weird stuff

  15. 8.1.2014

Wow, PinchofYum leaves me speechless, it slowly getting to the point where it will be comparable to Groove & Pat Flynn’s operations.

    Thumbs up!

  16. 8.1.2014

This inspired me! I hope to post my first income report on my new/first monetizable blog in about a month! Do you have any posts about setting up Google Analytics?

  17. networkwithdon
    8.1.2014

Matt, I just launched my blog on July 28th. I was wondering how you get included in your income report?

    Thanks, Don

    • August 4th, 2014 at 11:51 am

I am just wondering how much Neil Patel and Brian dean are making per month from their blog and secondly Matthew it is not a big surprise to me that when you take time off, income goes up! The time is actually change after humming bird frequent posting does not help increasing traffic. So whenever you give rest to your blog for few days you will notice the increase in traffic. Actually not only increase in traffic but also increase in keywords standing. I am 100% sure about it.

    • October 17th, 2014 at 2:55 pm

Be awesome if they published income reports huh :)

I think Neil would kill everyone though with his =D
